The lack of exercise in this day and age is an obvious problem and indirectly caused by our dependence on technology; however, do you feel like one of the main reasons that obesity is such a problem in America is because of how readily accessible unhealthy food is and conversely how unaccessible/expensive it is to eat healthy? Should there be something done about it? Discuss.

I myself am a vegetarian and I spend over $200 every two weeks buying fresh produce, 100% whole wheat products, and organics. If I were to eat like the average college student and hit up a $1 menu every day I would save a lot of money (and time).
That's what I think the biggest problem is. Not making healthy option readily available to everyone, but that won't happen until ppl start advocating for change. And right now they are content eating their chemical filled synthetic burger patties for a 1$ and some change.
I mean I don't exercise. I walk around a lot at work
Unhealthy food is cheap and my family tends to buy average stuff. We buy a lot of fruits and vegetables.
How old are you?
It's so weird. Like when I was growing up (I was born in 1987) we didn't want to sit inside and play the Super Nintendo/ Sega Genesis or "Chip's Challenge" everyday. I mean it was fun, but every single day? We loved going outside and riding our bikes and playing in the dirt or going to the part. It's amazing how so much has changed.
This is true. As long as there is room for disease there's a market for pharmaceuticals and the FDA. It's so sad, but the government is really the route of all of our problems
The entire American culture is different from for example Europe tho.
My brother went to America a year ago and he had never seen so many fast food restaurants in one street
I live in the country with the lowest obesity rates of Europe
Healthy food is more expensive than unhealthy food. And if someone is living on a budget, they have to make every dollar stretch. I know so many people who want to start eating healthy but then they go to organic section of the grocery store and the prices are 2/3x as much as frozen dinners, snacks and fast food places. It's a shame really. Healthy food should be more accessible, in my opinion. It would help to start fix the problem.
Exercise is an issue too, but since I don't own a car, and mostly walk/take the bus everywhere, I never really had to worry about that.
It's getting ridiculous in Mexico too.
My high school friends are all fat except for me at the young age of 23
I walk downtown and about 50% of people is fat, little kids too, like
At least I look hot in comparison
I'd probably be fat if I lived in Mexico. Eating tacos, burritos, nachos, enchiladas, mole, fajitas, and chimichangas everyday It must really be a struggle there.

When bottled water costs more than a soda it's a problem
i try and buy cases every week so i dont have to buy them elsewhere. But yea i try and avoid fast food, i dont drink soda at all. and its hard to find something to eat! especially when going out. One of my favorite cheap places is called maoz, they make falafel sandwiches and you can top them with unlimited veggies
