Are Selfie Avatars Pretentious?
Every now and again I see someone on ATRL with an avatar of themselves, is this pretentious? Or is it sincere?
Discuss.

I don't see how it's any different from having selfies as Twitter profile pics... it's supposed to identify you, isn't it?...

Depends on the member. Some wear them well, others are a mess.
There was one member whose selfie avatar stayed perched on my AdBlock list, but he's permabanned now so...

Who cares.
If they are confident about their looks like that then kudos to them.

They're more courageous, imo. You're putting a face to your comments and opening yourself up for criticism.

I wouldn't call it pretentious if the owner is ugly which happens most of time...

I have no problem with them, especially if the person is attractive

I think it should be required, then people would think twice about critizing others looks 24/7.
