This was one of the best real RnB albums I heard in a while. The music on showcase here is the kind of music which rarely exist on radio today, or in the mainstream market and for hardcore RnB fans, the kinda stuff donnel jones, blackstreet, maxwell, craig david and usher before he became pop were doing, There's evidently raw vocals with minimum alteration on a lot of the tape. This is what RnB should be. Am talking Rymthem and Blues not Rymes and Bubblegum. It hurts me to say this, as a big Jay Sean fan. But his Mixtape music is actually better than a lot of his album music, and i would prefer for him to release this as an online album instead of giving it away for free, in hopes it gets some chart recognition .
Highlight tracks from the Mistress are: "The Mistress", "Love" ft. Birdman, "Sex 101" ft. Tyga, "She has no time" ft. Keane (Sample), "Can't Fall In Love","Message in a bottle", "Say yh" ft Lupe Fiasco...
If you like real RnB music check the mixtape out below, if you only listen to POP music, eg.Justin Beiber, One Direction. you probably wont like it...
I cant wait for part 2, expected to be released June 1st as promised by Jay Sean in BBC Asian Network Radio Interview, until then enjoy the The Mistress.
your confused if you think NEON was bad quality music, the majority of that album had top 40 material and his vocals were great, i will never understand why anyone in there right mind put out "where you are" before guns n roses or worth it all. which would have been top 40 material and radio would have had them on repeat all day long.
