CCTV reports on an interview with Resident Evil franchise writer/director/producer Paul W.S. Anderson at the Beijing International Film Festival where he talked about the looming sixth Resident Evil adaptation.

“I have to go home tomorrow for Rising Resident Evil (OP's note - this is mistranslated, the title is apparently Resident Evil Rises),” he explained, further revealing a returning cast member, “That’s what I’m going to do. As you know, Li Bingbing is in the last movie and she will be there again…“

Anderson also says he believes 3D technology has now become the fabric, rather than just a special sauce, for a film. And, his next Resident Evil will “definitely be 3D”.

Yass this thread is giving me life! This movie is easily my most anticipated movie. I think the most disappointing thing about RE: Retribution is that it didn't progress the story AT ALL. The whole thing was just contained in that one underwater base and it really didn't have any impact upon saving humanity or doing anything other than getting Jill and the other new characters onboard .

All of the cast better be on board for this one.

Tbh the story of the series hasn't at all progressed since Extinction... I still love them, I'm just glad they're going to wrap things up with a 6th one. The whole Red Queen thing has become confusing
