For the singer–who’s written songs for not only Perry, but Ellie Goulding, Cher, Kesha and Britney Spears –the difference is actually very simple.
“When I’m writing for other people I have to play it safe,” she said. “When I’m dealing with Britney Spears and Katy Perry, these massive brands, like really very Coca-Cola, you know what I mean? There are certain kinds of standards, There are risks you can take, and there’s risks that you don’t.
And I think I’m interested in taking a little more risk in my own music.”
wait, she's comparing katy to coke. in other words, she's saying that these girls are really commercial driven. very kid friendly pop oriented! which is exactly what a lot of us have been saying! katy doesn't take risks! and when she does venture outside of her comfort zone she falls flat!
Not while American Girl was a fusion of all the WORST things about Katys music! She needs to get her priorities straight and not try to drag down the artists she worked with that actually opened the doors for her to get her own name out there. I'm sure she feels bitter since she does all this labor and gets no recognition... But you have to pay your dues, carrot top.
Why is Bonnie shading her so much lately? She shouldn't be biting the hand that feeds her. If it wasn't for Katy she would still be homeless with no car and everybody knows it.
