I think Genie in a Bottle vs. Poker Face would be a better comparison. Poker Face kind of overshadowed Just Dance and actually had lasting impact.

No tea no shade honestly most people I know don't even remember Genie in a Bottle. I guess it didn't impact my generation (I'm 20).

Just Dance didn't really have "impact" on the GP, but it definitely had impact on radio in the sense that a lot of the radio songs followed that genre (but dont get me wrong, JD wasn't the only song to make that impact, it was just more of the prominent ones).

Ironically, the same guy who wrote "Physical" by Olivia Newton John(the same one that's the #1 Hot 100 hit of the 80's) also wrote "Genie In A Bottle".

I'm 21 and know it. They need to reeducate themselves on pop culture if they barely remember one of the most definite first releases by a female pop star.
