Talking about sleep deprivation, it seems the former Mis-Teeq singer, whose last solo album The Entertainer limped to No.84 in 2010, is thriving on it – and her daughter has inspired her to return to music.
She laughed: “I’ve learned that I can survive on two hours’ sleep.
“Do you know what, having a little girl has almost re-energised me.
“It’s made me want to go back to doing what I love because I want to set an example to her. I want her to see me doing what I love to do.
“It’s motivated me and I’ve got my hunger back again, which I think was put on hold for a little while. I’m feeling fired up again for music, 100 per cent.
“I miss being on stage. That’s where I believe I should be, so I’m going to make sure that happens.”
While many old pop groups such as Atomic Kitten and Damage have got back together for The Big Reunion, Alesha doesn’t think it’s right for Mis-Teeq, whose biggest hit was the up-tempo R&B song Scandalous.
However, she is still in touch with the other two girls, Sabrina Washington and Su-Elise Nash.
Alesha said: “I don’t think it’s for Mis-Teeq right now but what I would always say with anything in life is never say never. For now, no.”
Instead, she is planning her solo return. She is listening to beats and will start writing her comeback album after BGT.
