I hate seeing humblebrags on twitter, facebook, or even instagram. For those who dont know, by definition, a humblebrag is

humblebrag (plural humblebrags)

1. An ostensibly self-deprecating statement made to show off.
2. A brag statement artfully planted within a slightly deprecating statement; used in order to conceal pride that would otherwise be apparent.
3. A form self promotion where the promoter thinks he is, almost subliminally, bragging about himself in the context of a humble statement or complaint

Examples:

(Posts his graduation picture with mom who apparently died a year ago) I cant believe its been 3 years already since I graduated from Harvard. Time does fly so fast. This year I'm getting my second degree. I'm sure mom's very proud up there, especially that I was able to finish it while working part time as a manager in Microsoft. I love you Mom

Legs are suffering from cramps after finishing that 10k run in under 25 minutes...Gonna see the doctor later after grabbing the new iPhone.

(Checks in at some big airport) Thought I wasnt gonna make it! Good thing I didnt have to line up at the Economy counter



I hate these.

People do it all the time when vacationing. Like, I thought you were going to Africa to help children, why are you posting pics of yourself on some South African beach?

There's a special place in hell for these people.
