The most disappointing part was the crowds participation or lack there of. The crowd wasn't vibing with Outkast, unsure of why Andre 3000 kept asking the audience "Y'all still here? Are you not entertained?".
Obviously expecting the crowd to go nuts as soon as they walked on stage, Andre 3000's facial expression started to show let down he actually was. So much so, Andre 3000 turned his back on the fans and started rapping to a jumbotron. Along with technical difficulties, Andre 3000 was OVER IT.
I don't blame him. The crowd was booing them, like no one is forcing you to stay. They're the headliner so they're the billed as the biggest act that day.
I think he turned his back because he has said 'Hey Ya' is his least favorite song to perform, so after the crowd didn't get hype for a bunch of classics he didn't want to get hype for the one song they know.
Which is wrong if that's why tbh but I'm just speculating.
I just can't believe this happened. Outkast used to be almost unanimously liked. I just don't get it. Do those people really have such short memories?
I can't think of many current examples like them, maybe like Daft Punk, almost everybody seemed to like them last year, but who knows, maybe in 5-10 years the same will be happening to them?
