Inspired by my "Unconditionally" thread. I'll probably get dragged to hell and back for this but whatever. No disrespect to Katy.

I've noticed that ever since Katy broke the 5 #1 singles in a row record with Teenage Dream, her stans have become so obsessed with chart numbers that they immediately reject anything she releases that doesn't break the Top 10.

Example: she came back with Roar and it went number one and they were all so quick to drag Gaga and Applause. But when Uncle didn't do nearly as well, they acted like it was the worst song ever created and blamed it on Katy and her label for making a bad decision. And on top of all this, the record has led to Katycats creating the infamously annoying "Female MJ" nickname for Katy.

Are Katy stans too quick to whip out this ONE record that she broke in order to somehow justify Katy?

That's what I always assumed... but then when Gaga stans called Gaga the Female MJ for a day, they had major meltdowns about how Katy earned that title and not Gaga. It was quite embarrassing

Yes. Seemingly all they truly care about are the charts and sales. If Katy didn't have half of the success that she's had, she wouldn't have even half of the stans that she has.

Most of us are kidding. While I like seeing her at the top, it doesn't really matter that much. I genuinely love her and her music. So as long as she keeps releasing and touring I'm happy
