Who do You think worked hardest to get at the top in show business ?

In my opinion, Madonna.

She basically became GLOBAL without the Internet. She became a global phenomenon when most people in the world had no access to the Internet or social media. She reached the top and became the most successful female musician even based solely on hard work from her part (performing and hard promo). She moved to New York and lived Ina. Rat infested apartment, got raped, etc and still came out victorious. 32 years later she's still as famous as she's always been.

I also have to mention Beyonce.

The fact that 15 something years later after her debut she's still at the top of the game when most of the stars that debuted with her have burnt out or faded away. She works hard and is a good business woman, like Madonna.

Honorable mention to J.Lo

Another woman who built an empire from the ground. Music, perfumes, fashion, entrepreneur etc.

I think no one knows the story of Shakira....

people used to throw eggs to her when she started...plus she comes from a small town in a latin american country....

i mean she used to get bullied in school, had a bit more weight,didnt look that good, was probably the worst WAITRESS(like she said) and look where she now is.

I remember reading a brief Shakira biography that said her family had money then they lost all the money and they lived very poor and had to start from 0 again.

Shakira's a hard worker and she's been a start since the mid 90's

If it were, Rihanna or Nicki, easily. Y'all are talking about working in fast food restaurants when some come from broken families full of domestic violence and drugs.

Definitely Madonna. Of course, most artists got to the top with the help of others, but Madonna has been in complete control of her career since the very beginning. Other major pop artists (i.e.: Whitney, Mariah, Beyoncé, Rihanna, etc.) were all helped in major ways by record label executives/father figures who took them under their wing and guided them. Madonna didn't really have that luxury.

And you think all that is enough sistren? She went through a difficult phase but that's all. It's not like no one is bullied at school.

Beyoncé had a lot of a respectable amount of money before her career but I mean her father left his job; she signed like 2 labels before 1997... not mentionning the constant backlash she experiments at her younger age; when everybody was jealous in her neighbourhood, and when her father fired Letoya & Latavia.

even going solo she struggled to have the "OK" of her label for DIL. they thought there were no hits on the album...

last but not last, she works very hard on the stage when she's giving you that show and have a complete control on her career like madonna (from production to style). dont bring stupid arguments.

Weren't Beyonce parents rich too? ...Nicki Minaj worked her butt off to be where she is
