Have you ever received abuse for being LGBT?

I've had people shout names out of their cars when I hold my boyfriend's hand in public, so we stopped doing it
Even when we weren't getting abused we were getting stared at, it simply wasn't worth the negative attention it drew to us.

Of course. Name-calling, lost friends, people trying to out me online, casual homophobia and not to mention all the internalised stuff rampant on here. I'd be deeply surprised if anyone hasn't. Unless they're closeted and undetectable. It's hard out here for a bitch.

I used to get bullied in high school for being gay too, although I went to a school full of idiot farmer kids.

It's not abuse, but I do get frustrated with people joking/commenting that I'll have to hide my sexuality to be a successful male popstar

I am straight but I was called a **** multiple times in middle school just because I was quiet, shy and dressed in dark clothes. A lot of girls would move away from me when I was close to them and say stuff like "omg ewww do you like me?" or "do you like x (some girl?)" "is x your gf?". It was very hurtful and obnoxious.

Yes, they used to always treat me differently and make me cry, it was horrible and cringey to think about now. But I matured and so did they I guess, honestly no one in high school/college cares. Of course there's always a few immature ones in high school but I'm ova it

The KC Plaza is one of the most gay friendly communities in the world, so me and him are allowed to get away with sooooo many **** that we'd probably get out to prison for in other states. So odd how Missouri's metro areas are the gayest but the rural areas are THE most hatred-filled.

My friend's little brother had a birthday party in Chuck E Cheese and I went to keep my friend company and this woman and her nephew and niece joined us. Anyway we all talked and after that my friend said how the nephew wanted us all to hang out and I saw the lady once at my friend's house and she repeated what my friend said. One day she calls me and says he's not your friend and stay away from that family because they've been saying ****. I asked her what happened and she said he was joking that I liked the niece and my friend said no, Luis is gay and then suddenly from saying they wanted to hang out to all these horrible things. Saddest is that her brother and sister who were toddlers were playing dress up and the boy put on his mom's shoes and when the homophobes found out they started implying to the mom that it was because of me and I was a bad influence and I guess the mom started to believe those idiots so my friend and me rarely hung out and never at her house. They were religious, maybe Jehovahs and they talked **** about everyone but I became their favorite target in conversations and I seriously think they would've framed me for something if they could. I avoided certain areas I know they liked to frequent for a long time because even though you're proven innocent of something they still create a police record; I don't know what I'd do if I had run into those crazies after that. I never saw them again and I hope they moved to another state...country...continent

i get bullied for being gay in school almost everyday and i can't do anything bc i live in saudi arabia, i'm leaving this country in a year hopefully which is basically the only thing that keeps me strong (and i even get called names by my mom which is sad but my brother and sister are always here to help me, basically all of my family is homophobic except for them)
