Disney is investigating a trademark registration filed by deadmau5.
The DJ - real name Joel Zimmerman - has applied to trademark a logo of a caricature mouse to cover a range of merchandise, including electrical and scientific apparatus, BMX bikes, paper goods and leather goods.
However, Disney feels that there is a likeness between deadmau5's logo and that of their famous cartoon character Mickey Mouse.
The corporation may argue that the likeness could confuse the consumer and is misleading when it comes to the source of the goods or services. (full article)
