I love me some Aaliyah but I feel that she's overrated because of her death. I'm not saying she was a flop, but people making it seem like she was the female MJ or something. People also say that if she hadn't died Beyonce wouldn't have a career. If you look at the statistics Aaliyah didn't get huge until she died. I feel like she was the level Cassie and K. Michelle are on now.

I don't think she overrated though. Her sound was literally ahead of her time when it was released and it still sounds fresh today (like "Try Again" "One in a Million" "Rock the Boat" etc).
She was classy, a good actress, good singer and could dance - a true triple threat.
She was a biT overrated in terms of her raw talent. She was a good dancer but not great. She was a good singer but not great. But she was still awesome.
