Was anyone saying that they can't get along? My best friend is liberal and I'm conservative.

Because they arent that different. When I say I dislike liberals people think I'm conservative, but really liberalism is just far too central to ever be that different to conservatism.

People in general will shun you if they find out that you have the opposite political view then they have. Also people will instantly start judging you based on your political preference.

i'm a conservative and i get along with people on the left unless they have crazy views, same with the right, i'm a moderate republican but if u r going to throw some crazy things out there then no

They aren't right for doing that.

I have friends who are republicans, and although we don't always agree politically it's not like it matters at the core of our friendships.

Its true unfortunately, You even see it online and even on here on ATRL. For instance, on Yahoo comments (messiest place ever) people will literally name call the other party they don't like and will continuously rant and say **** to satisfy their quench to say they are right about how the world should work

The hatred is much worse online than it is in real life. It's easy to make critical comments as an audience member, but I think most of those people would treat anyone they personally knew with more respect no matter how much they disagree.

I guess they can but I usually try to avoid the topic of politics with my more liberal friends
