I have the black iPhone 5 but I would give it up for a white one in a heartbeat. Things generally look better on the white one tbh.

Apple does the phone exchange program. I brought in my old iPhone 4s and I got 130 to my Silver iPhone 5s. SO at the end I got it for 70 dollars. It's really a nice program for apple to offer.

Gold, by far, is the most popular but I find it the most gaudy, lolz. I have Silver and love it.



EDIT: I will say that I keep every iPhone I have hibernating in its Otterbox so even with the color being Silver, the Otterbox itself is Black so I guess you could say my phone is mostly black with hints of white and silver.
