The problem is in Ukraine at least you have the media, who can tell things as they are.
In Venezuela if you're a journalist you're either fired or you have to pretend like everything is the students fault, when they're peacefully protesting for a country with no violence and better conditions. So basically the real information has to be uploaded to sites like YouTube, cause the government can't control those.
