AMSTERDAM — The Dutch right-wing populist politician Geert Wilders has led his supporters in an anti-Moroccan chant.
At a party meeting Wednesday evening in The Hague, where his Freedom Party is set to win the most votes in municipal elections, Wilders asked supporters whether they wanted “more or fewer” Moroccans in the Netherlands.
His supporters chanted back: “Fewer! Fewer! Fewer!” before breaking into applause.
“Good, we’re going to take care of that,” Wilders said.
Wilders’ party is the fourth-largest in Parliament but leads in national opinion polls. His rise to popularity in the Netherlands over the past decade came amid a surge of anti-immigrant sentiment in a country once famed for its tolerance. In 2011 he was acquitted of hate speech charges for anti-Muslim remarks.
You know just as well as I do the media is doing too much on him and this situation.. He said they should be deporting criminals who don't have a Dutch passport or take away the Dutch passport from criminals who have multiple passports and deport them then and there's nothing wrong with that, plenty of countries do that already. He's always been very clear that he means ALL criminals with passports that aren't Dutch, it's just that over there they are the biggest group causing troubles
The dutch are always a damn mess.. they might want to play openmindedness, but honestly they are still so racist... I wish the country could be better, but it has a long way to go!
