I plan on getting a golden retriever puppy sometime in May.

My mom got me two chocolate labs last May. Along with them, we have a rat terrier.

I've considered labs, but I've heard some can be really hyper. Any truth to that from personal experience?

Oh yes. And they were 2 months old when we got them. They have to be run around the yard a lot and play.

I know that, my own dog often humps my neighbor's male dog whenever they play together, but I didn't know two girl dogs do each other like male dogs do.
