Dear members of the press and media,

Did the “corporate” world buy every inch of decency in your bodies? Or is it that your editors and superiors tell you what to think?

People used to want to become journalists (myself included) for the urge they felt to tell the truth, to uncover secrets and share with the world the untold side of events and stories.

But when did reporting facts and events become a sad tool for a way to express your own personal likes and dislikes over public figures? Don’t like Madonna or lady gaga, or the person you know of?

Try focusing on facts when writing a professional article about them. If you really need to express your personal feelings towards them, create a personal blog for it.

The difference in treatment Madonna and lady gaga and a lot of women in music get in the media compared to other male artists is beyond embarrassing. The more I think about the current state of our mainstream media, the more upset and discontent I get.

You have real charities taking advantage of people yet you focus on lady gaga's (things might not exactly seem right) but the thought is there and people are still being helped. Don't like the fact Madonna is dating a younger man? - Write about how there are sometimes 30 and 40 year differences with male stars and their partners. Madonna is old? She certainly wasn't the oldest one to walk the red carpet at the Grammies?

Note: I'm not even a lady gaga fan but no one in their right mind can deny media bias.

The freedom of speech thing only applies to the government. Also, you can't just slander someone's name just because you don't like them. That is not how it works.

I care because as I explained its about ethics. Journalism is all about writing about hidden truths and uncovering the factual side of things.

Everyone has freedom of speech but thats not in the spirit of writing a professional article.

For the young people that don't know what I'm talking about: Think about it, It every old movie (like superman) and even some new movies and tv shows (like the dome) whenever a journalist is featured they investigate the story, they sneak around, they uncover the truth and then break the story. This is based on the old concept of what journalism is all about. The movies STILL use that concept.

The sad reality is sensationalism is killing real journalism
