First I have to say that i'm not rooting for any side ( Russian – Ukrainian/USA/EU ) nor i dislike any country that is involved in this conflict .

So the question is pretty simple. When USA said : Iraq has oil but we will attack them under excuse that they have nuclear weapon although world knows that they don't have , ppl in USA and some other countries said YES .
Than Afghanistan , although the main reason is „be present in that part of the world „ but people are still thinking that the troops are fighting for higher cause

But when more than a half of Crimen population is Russian and they want to be in Russia ( although Russia needs Crimea for strategical reasons just like USA need Iraq and Afghanistan ) than that's bad even if they had a referendum ?





Discuss .What's your opinion about these situations when big countries ( USA , Russia , China, UK ... ) invade some part of the world just because that's their strategical goal or put a political sanctions .

Ukrainian laws no longer apply in the region and all Ukrainian state property belongs to Crimea itself

It is not about who is protecting , it's about how military actions from USA, UK in Asia , Africa are "good" although they don't have nothing to do with that part of the world except they wan to control it economically , but when Russia has an " excuse" for that because of Russian population than that's bad . I'm not saying that russian intentions are just that ( we all know that they are just showing muscles and that Sevastopol is their main harbor where they have like 50% of their navy and from the past they always wanted to have access to warm see ) but they have an" excuse " for that

This is a gross oversimplification. Not only was the perceived threat of Iraq having WMD VERY real at one point or another but also many, many people were against the USA and UK engaging in conflict over it. While the UN discouraged action, Bush and Blair ignored this and went in anyway.

Well when you start a thread like this that's rude to begin with you're basically just asking for it.

i know that ppl in th UK were against Iraq , but UK today is still involved in bunch of things. France and UK are still making policy in former African colonies and many British and french company's have privileged position in these countries - you can't close your eyes on that just because we live our lives judging what we were told or what we saw on the internet .
