Lily Allen on Kanye West: "He epitomizes Pop Culture"
Quote:
Lily Allen decided to name her new album Sheezus because she believes Kanye West “epitomises” pop culture.
The 27-year-old songstress is preparing to release the new LP in May, which is obviously based on the name of Kanye’s latest musical offering, his 2013 record Yeezus.
Like the rapper, Lily is known for sharing controversial opinions with no filter, and she believes they are united by a special unseen bond.
“[Sheezus is] the female version of Jesus. Basically, there’s a guy called Kanye West who named his album Yeezus and in my songs I try to talk about pop culture and society in general, and for me he epitomises that,” she explained on The Michael McIntyre Chat Show Monday night, before heaping praise on her fellow musician.
“Yeezus is quite lol, really isn’t it. I have a lot of respect for him. I don’t really agree with everything he says but I think that he believes what he says and says it.
“Most people will come on here and just agree with you. Kanye doesn’t do that and neither do I, so that’s why I’m Sheezus and he’s Yeezus.”
