US: Would You Support A Healthcare System Like The NHS?
As in you pay tax towards the NHS so that if/when you need treatment, it comes out of the Government's pocket and not your own. (In Wales, prescriptions are free, too.)
I don't see this working in the US though. There aren't enough hospitals. You could get mauled by a bear and have to wait hours and hours in the emergency room. People would be going to the hospital emergency for every ****ing thing.
I've wondered what it would be like to have our healthcare and other systems reformed, but aren't we too big?
With socialism for example, isn't the most populated country with it something like 10 million while we're 300 million more than that. I asked my sister and she thinks the way we run things now is our safest bet because of our size.
