I'm not kidding. I will buy a CD. Listen to it. Find half of the CD boring (most of the time) and nothing really stands out.

Then one of those tracks becomes a single, it's *****d up on the radios and you fall in love with it. Whether or not it's *****d up, just the fact it came a single changed your thoughts on it.

Weird? I guess stand out tracks don't get noticed til they become singles. I just thought of this cause I'm listening to Chris Brown right now (His first CD) and I remember back when I first got it and listened to it and thought the last half was boring. (never got into Poppin' and Say Goodbye). Now they are singles. And I love them.

yeah I fing that weird too. but i think songs grows on you. For example a really really bad song whoring the radios and you happen to listen to it then you will like it eventually.

yeah I wasn't a big fan of Piece of Me until I started hearing it on the radio and when I go out and stuff...now I love it. Same goes for Shake It Off by Mariah.

Just wait til Get Naked is a single. The haters will soon love it.

Yeah this happens to me if I only listen to an album once and quickly dismiss it. But two listens is usually enough to recognize the best songs.

Nope...if I can't stand a song, I'll never like it. I don't like when the media tries to persuade me to like something that I just don't care for.

Take for instance "Soulja Boy". We KNOW how much that crap was played everywhere and yet I'm probably still the only person on earth who refuses to do the damn dance and wants to hit somebody everytime they play it .lol

I'm not talking about songs you don't like. I'm taking about "non-stand out" tracks. Like Poppin' and Say Goodbye. I didn't like or get "hooked" on those two tracks til they were released as singles.

In other words, if they were never singles, I probably wouldn't have liked them at this point. Now they are stand out tracks. So like you listen to an album. None of the tracks stick out to you. But then eventually they are released and you love them. But before that you didn't "care" or "notice" how good they were til then.

I agree, Kevin. I felt this way about Kelly Rowland's "Ghetto" featuring Snoop Dogg. I didn't think it compared to the rest of the songs on the album, but I *****d the song once it was released as a single. It definitely is weird, but a great observation nonetheless.

That's definitely true. I haven't played "Hot As Ice" in such a long ass time and I only started playing it again after hearing the possible single news and now I'm in love with it. I almost never listen to radio either, but I guess the fact that you know the single is being out makes you more interested in listening to it.

Yeah, sometimes it happens, but there are songs that are impossible to like, even becoming a single, like Say Somethin' from Mariah and Piece Of Me from Britney, I still dislike them.

The opposite can happen to, like Big Girls Don't Cry (Fergie), It was my favorite song from her, but it was overplayed here in Brazil, I can't listen to it again.

For example, I used to hate "Piece of Me", I couldn't play it completely, and I knew it was a single and listened it but I didn't like. I then saw the video and I didn't love it, but I liked it, so I watched it several times and now I can listen to the whole song without watching the video.
