Tech: HTC's revenue keep sliding, down 37%

HTC’s revenue for January and February is down 37.2 percent from the same stretch of 2013, and February in particular was brutal, with revenue declining 25.3 percent from January. In fact, for HTC to hit its bare minimum, low-end earnings target for the first quarter, it’s going to need to see March sales that exceed January and February combined.

Naturally, if those figures were in tune with what investors expected, the declines would be less painful. However, it more so appears that HTC projected a low quarter and is going to fail even that modest test. This is made all the sharper by the fact that January and February of 2013 were also weak quarters, each posting top line decreases.

Oh well, they still have their benchmarks and critical acclaims, who cares about sales anyway.

The sad power of marketing.. Shame no one has a slice of the pie except Apple and the undeserving Samsung.

They are slowly but surely making a turn around.. I don't expect them to be the top vendor that's obvious but the slow momentum has been rebuilding for them.

Billion dollars vs word of mouth doesn't turn around a company in a matter of 1 year.

This isn't like the pop world where a quickie hit and payola gets you to the top.

I don't know where your getting to/at? Never did I discuss or question the sales of the galaxy series? The discussion at hand is the actual product.. not the marketing achieved to get Samsung where its at now.

The Galaxy S2 was massively acclaimed back in the days and didn't have the massive promotion Samsung has now, yet that's when Samsung started to snatch weaves, partly because of the word of mouth.

But in HTC's case you're right, cause here we are a year after the HTC One and yet the company is doing even worse than before...

Didn't have a billion dollars in advertising thrown at it correct, however it was considerably more then anything htc could do.. Nothing wrong with that.. hell Samsung has doah.. then use to to grow the farm and feed the sheep.

You can continue making threads faulting a small company for being just that but you cant for making a inferior product.
