What we don’t understand is why there isn’t a #GiveAmyAnOscar campaign as well. Her Best Actress loss to Cate Blanchett was inevitable, but why do her nominations and talent continue to go under the radar?
During her acceptance speech, Blanchett praised her fellow nominees, but it seemed like her heart was really going out to Adams.
“Amy Adams everything you do… but your performance in American Hustle blew my mind,” Blanchett said.
The Oscars are fickle. There are always favorites, and not everyone can win. But if we are going to continue to feel bad for Leo, we need to remember to care about Amy. Here’s to these two winning in 2015.
Half the time I feel like the nomination themselves were her reward. I mean she's always great but she seems to be more of a default nominee when there are no other frontrunners.
She's less deserving of the noms than Leo, but she deserves to win more.
Leo could have only won statstically for the Aviator. Gilbert Grape was the best performance but they aren't going to award an Oscar to a child after what happened to Tatum O'Neil. He was really, really lucky to get nominated that year.
