People can over come their anxiety if they want too, but they should not be forced. With dating, I don't see how someones anxiety would play a big part in a relationship because they should feel comfortable around you... plus if you truly liked them then it wouldnt matter.
I used to date a guy with social anxiety and I'm an extremely social person, but it wasn't that bad. He kinda hated the fact that his friends were all over me and that some of his relatives he hated loved me
The better question is can someone with social anxiety date someone who dismisses their disorder as tiresome.
Basically this. Doesn't matter what issue the other has, it's all about compromising and patience from the other. Opposites attract anyway but a long term relationship is another story

If one person is really outgoing and loves to do things that involve being around other people and the other person is uncomfortable doing all of that, then it would play a big part in their relationship.
Depends on the personality of the other. If they can somehow relate to the issue or understand it then you should be fine. If they seem a caring enough person who is genuinely interested in you then social anxiety shouldn't be an issue. However, I've dated tons of guys who I thought would understand, but instead they cut contact once the date is over. Bastards.
I think it could happen. I met a really cool girl a few months back, and we just clicked. We weren't together or anything, but if we had spent more time together I could've really seen it happening. I felt totally relaxed with her, and when that's the case I completely feed off of someone's energy. I was flirting with her, more confident and everything.
