You just sound unlucky. Every time I go to the Apple store, they most of the time they replace my product even for small things like the home button becoming stiff.
But I've owned 4 MacBooks (from 2005, 2006, 2010 & 2012) and they have never failed me like that. It sounds like you got a lemon.
But their tech care is one of the best in the world, so I am surprised but again, you may have got some **** people.
