Do you miss it when a music video would've premiered on TV, and that the music videos were actually worth something because everybody watched them on TV?
Yes. It was a big deal about someone's video premiering and you felt like a lot of people were also waiting and anticipating for that premier. And you did not want to missed it because you would not know when the video will be play again. Now videos debut on Youtube and it just doesn't feel like a big deal. Because you can check the video later in the day or a day after.
I think TV is a dying format when it comes to music, which is why stations like MTV rarely play music anymore, as its just not profitable.
However, I do sort of miss it. I feel that when MV's debuted on TV there wasn't as much overexposure of songs/artists. Now, artists are pimped out in every way possible in order to get their brand noticed.
I still use music videos on TV because that's like the only that I can make my parents listen to Katy Perry. They cannot care less about current music.
