A source tells E! News exclusively that even though the R&B superstar has completed his court-ordered 90 days in rehab, he has decided to stay at the facility for further treatment.
"It was his choice," the source reveals to E! News. "He will come out soon."
The 24-year-old was on hand on Friday evening when he was honored by 2nd Call, an L.A. community group, for his work with the organization and his own Symphonic Love Foundation and Unity Campaign.
The "Love More" singer appeared to be in "good spirits" as he smiled and greeted people who came up to his table," the source added. He spent roughly a half hour posing for photos with people and was seen shaking hands with other guests.
That's great. I really want him to get better because he has just been so messy these past few years and it's embarrassing as a borderline fan-stan to watch it all happen. Then he can come back with his album and hopefully do at least decently well.
But wasn't he caught at some party when he was supposed to be in rehab a couple of weeks ago? Probably for the best he's staying a bit longer
He was at a charity event and then stopped at the party for a little while on his way back to rehab. A worker from the rehab facility was with him the whole time.
