Famous musician flops hard, finishes last in Winter Olympics
Quote:
Vanessa-Mae has finished last in the standings in her alpine skiing event at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.
The British-Singaporean violinist, who represented Team Thailand under her given name Vanessa Vanakorn, was slowest of the 67 who completed the Women's Giant Slalom today (February 17).
She recorded a total time of 3:26.97 for her two runs, finishing over 50 seconds behind the eventual gold medallist, Tina Maze of Slovenia.
Vanessa-Mae was also bottom of the standings after the first run with a time of 1:44.86, 26 seconds behind the leader.
She did, however, rank above 23 athletes who entered the event, 15 of whom did not complete the first run, seven of whom did not finish the second run and one who did not start.
Vanessa-Mae, who has been a skier since the age of 4, was allowed under Olympic rules to represent Thailand because her father's lineage comes from the country.
She did, however, rank above 23 athletes who entered the event, 15 of whom did not complete the first run, seven of whom did not finish the second run and one who did not start.
Yeah, I remember hearing that she had to go to all the ski competitions possible, even juniors competition and she made it in by only a few seconds on her total time.
She qualified to the Olympics on top of being the most popular violinist in the world. When will your fave?
