What's up everyone, it's your friendly neighborhood missing-in-action technical administrator with some ATRL updates for this month. I have a few things I want to say so I'm getting them all out in one thread.
ATRL's Best of 2007
The most wonderful time of the year is almost upon us. ATRL's
Best of 2007 begins on
Friday, December 7th, and hopefully it'll be just as huge as last year. If you don't know what this is, here's the deal. At the end of every year, you're invited to post your favorite albums, singles, videos, and whatever else you feel like counting down. The format is up to you. Everyone can have their own "Best of 2007" thread, and everybody else can comment. On the 7th, we'll unveil the forum, and then until the end of the year, it's all you. However, you are
not allowed to compile a site-wide best of 2007 list. One of our moderators, Bart, usually takes care of that, even if it takes him 6 months.
Help requests
You might have noticed, we've opened up a
Help section. The link to it is in the top-right corner of every page. Everything you need help with on ATRL, it's all right here. We have some FAQ answered for you, including what's up with
updating threads, changing their titles and making them jump directly to a new reply. Some people were confused about that, so now there's a whole explanation for you.
But the important thing is the
help request form on there. Any question about ATRL you ever have -- anything the ATRL staff should ever answer -- it all goes there. Don't post a thread about it, and don't PM moderators for answers. We set up the official help request form so you can get an answer really quickly. The entire ATRL staff can see your help requests, so no matter when you send in your request, one of our moderators will probably see it and take care of it. We do actually read them!!! That's the whole point of the form.
Read the rules
When you go to post a new thread, you'll see yellow and red boxes with important rules for you. We put it in yellow and red boxes so it sticks out and maybe, just maybe, you'll actually read it! Try it sometime. There have been way too many threads, here in The Lounge especially, that should have been in a
Blogs thread, or should have been done as a help request on the
Help form. We're trying to make this easy for you, so help us out by actually reading before you post.
Also, it's great that many of you are using the "updated threads" feature to keep active threads for your favorite artists in the Main Music Forum. You can keep the thread title up-to-date and everybody can go straight to the latest news. But your thread is not "official"! ATRL's official threads have the gold
icon next to them.
That's all I've got to say right now. I'm really looking forward to Best of 2007, so start thinking now about your favorite music of the year. Get those lists and write-ups together, and we'll be counting it all down until the end of the year.
