Katy Perry Panned for Performance of The Beatles' "Yesterday
[/QUOTE]
Well, for starters, there's a contingent out there that can't stand when an artist changes the line "suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be" to "I'm not half the girl I used to be"—a change-up that happens pretty much every time a woman covers the Lennon-McCartney classic.
"I used to like Katy Perry. Right up until the moment she destroyed 'Yesterday' #Beatles50," tweeted concerned viewer Dave Lavery
"I like Katy Perry. Do not like this cover of "Yesterday" one bit. #TheNightThatChangedAmerica"
"Katy Perry is a part of this too? Why don't they just call this "Happy Anniversary Beatles, Hope You Like Crap." #Beatles50"

Seriously ... NOT Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, OR Ever, should Katy Perry appear on a tribute to The Beatles! #fail #Beatles50"
Who cares that Katy Perry butchered #Yesterday, how about rejoicing that Paul and Ringo played #Beatle songs together!
#Beatles50
Her vocals were fine, the person who attended the event before it aired made it sound like she completely butchered the song. At the end of the day Paul and Ringo gave her a standing ovation.
lmao at those tweets. those are uptight,self-righteous,pretentious Beatles stans they will DRAG any skilled female vocalist who tries to cover the Beatles. i mean they even dragged Carrie Underwood (who is a better vocalist than all of the members of the Beatles combined) but hey, them bitching on twitter won't change the fact that they are 40 year old virgins who live in their mom's basements with massive stretchmarks on their legs while they try to balance holding donuts, pringles and moaning about Katy Perry on twitter. she was being dragged for being 'Katy Perry'. a mainstream FEMALE pop star. not for her vocal skills which were very good imo.
