I owned a Nintendo DS.
If you type "3D platformer DS" into Google images you are left with a Mario 64 port and Rayman 2 port and not much else.

Graphical Capabilities mean a lot. Your gameplay will differ depending on how much your console can take.
& The Need For Speed & The Sims aren't basic since they are some of the best selling franchise's of all time and had big budgets so basic graphics wasn't a result of "cost".
For example, on the DS version of the Sims 2 pets you washed and groomed pets:
but on the PSP you could play the full game:
and don't say The Sims is basic because everyone knows that The Sims is the biggest non-first party franchise ever.
& that games like The Sims require extremely good hardware to function. Which is why the 3DS was the first nintendo handheld console to get the full Sims treatment.

The Wii alone had a much wider catalogue of games. I'd agree with you on the Wii.
But considering DS games are watered down versions of the full game (unless it's first party) then again, to call people deluded for playing the full games is just
