I often find myself ruminating about how will I be able to contribute to a better world. How I can help people, how I can invent something new, etc.

This is all coming from a selfish place in part. I want to be remembered for something after I am gone. I am still young (old for ATRL, but young for the rest of the world), but I find myself thinking about this. I have a few interests that I plan to pursue and use them to contribute to a better world. But should I even be concerned with such thoughts? I won't even care about this after I'm dead.

I think such thoughts are very common for many people around the world. I think it's due to plummeting rates of religious belief and the spread of the Internet. What I mean is that since many people now do not believe in afterlife, they want to leave a lasting legacy in this life through their actions. And the Internet makes it so much easier to reach millions outside of your immediate community, so it's easy to spread your ideas.

So do you have these thoughts about "changing the world"? What are you doing about these thoughts? How do you plan to "change the world"?

welp, I already have. besides being Pre med I do a bi monthly trip to a place called Tecate, Mexico where we set up a clinic and give people the only healthcare they most likely will ever receive. its my life's goal to open up an actual stable clinic there and have it up, running and sustainable by the people who live in that region. I hope I can do it (with help of course) .

I've always wanted to open a women's shelter/school in a developing country.

It probably won't be anything big, but I'm trying to just do small things every day that help others or make them happy/smile.

I donated a lot of money to charity and a volunteer a lot, is that enough?

Ideally would like to help the earth more and other animals since we humans are always taking resources and it's not fair to other beings here.
