Is this decade shaping up to be the worst in the history of pop music?
Sometimes I feel like it might just be. The quality of POP music has gone down, and artists are starting to paymore attention to things like shock factor and gimmicks than the actual music.
We haven't really had any iconic songs that will be remembered in the league of "I Will Always Love You," or "One Sweet Day."
I've also noticed that pop music is starting to get too repetitive, it's like, every song is something about dancing/getting wild with a (more than likely) week bass drop and a hook that tries to make the song different from the other songs following the same formula.

So what do you think? Is this decade going to be the worst pop music has ever seen?

If I have to say this a million times

- Timeless iconic songs are defined by retrospect. No one would hear One Sweet Day a week after it's release in the 1990's and call it timeless, they'd wait a few years and view the impact
- 'Gimmicks' and 'shock factor' have always been a staple of pop culture. See: Madonna, Britney, Christina
- Repetition always exists when major trends and movements exist. See: space themed songs in the 70's/80's in the wake of Bowie or the ****** late 90's teenpop
- Last but not least the late 90's/early 00's was without a doubt infinitely worse in pop music than the past four years. So in general: no
