Why nobody has broken that Britney record? She sold over 1,300 000 in just one week with her Oops...I did it again album.

It's harder to sell albums now. I wouldn't be surprised if it's never broken.

This is not even remotely true. Album sales are considerably stronger in their first weeks thanks to the invention of digital sales.

On top of that, Taylor Swift and others are able to release now on Mondays giving them an extra day of sales over Britney.

Also, Taylor Swift, Gaga, etc. have been able to take advantage of traditionally non-Soundscan retailers such as Papa John's.

To take it a step further, Britney ALSO had Sony BMG sales that Nielsen Soundscan did not count in her first week, so her number was well over 1.3 million (which had already doubled the previous first week record).

So no, Taylor's first week sales aren't even half as impressive as Britney's

But no seriously I don't think anyone is doing it now, it's not even that impressive when you think Taylor almost did it in 2012 with that sales climate.
