She was (still is?) independent -- never really got a chance for radio play. That being said, everyone and their mother has heard "Be Okay" from those commercials. That's something I guess :P
That being said, I am effing pumped for her to tour again. I actually saw her live here in Pittsburgh about two/three years ago and ran into her in the ladies bathroom by accident
. It was at the Homestead Library and there was a HUGE ass line for the girls room, even after they changed the men's room to a ladies' room. Being a guy, I had to go into the basement where I noticed another girls room. I went back upstairs and told my cousins (who I went with) who promptly told me to go back down and make
sure it was a ladies room.
I approached the door, and some lady opened it. I about shat myself because, since the ladies room was the only reason to be at the end of the hall, I had no reason to be there. I pulled out my phone and pretended to text and, lo-and-behold, Ingrid Michaelson was standing there.
Ingrid: "Dude. This place is ****ing creepy! It has to be haunted."
Me: "Oh it's yo...hi."
and I ran away. My first encounter with a celebrity and I blew it.
