While ‘Dark Horse‘ is winning and increasing its success in the U.S. and parts of Europe, in other parts of the world are already thinking about the fourth official single for Katy Perry.
It’s clear that there are no fourth official single, at least confirmed by her label Capitol Records. But on the other hand, some radios in Australia and New Zealand have begun to catalog and put on their playlists a new song taken from ‘PRISM‘, the fourth studio album by Katy Perry, released on digital retailers on October 18, 2013.
New Zealand contemporary hit radio network ZM (zed-em) added the track ‘This Is How We Do‘ and confirmed it as the next single on that country. The song was co-written by Perry with Klas Åhlund, and Max Martin, and produced by Åhlund and Martin. It serves as the follow-up to her latest release ‘Unconditionally‘, because ‘Dark Horse‘ was considered second single in that country which reached number 2 in the New Zealand official singles chart in October.
Of course, it’s not the first time Australia and New Zealand has a different promotional single compared to the rest of the world. It recently happened with the release of ‘Jump‘ as the next single of Rihanna and last year, the same thing happened with ‘Hummingbird Heartbeat‘ which was released as a single after ‘Wide Awake‘. These two countries tend to get early releases for new music and singles prior to other parts of the world, but that doesn’t ensure that they will become official singles for the rest of the world too.
‘This Is How We Do‘ has great potential to also become official single for the U.S. after becoming the theme song of the new TV Ad of American cosmetics brand COVERGIRL, where Katy Perry is the star, whose premiere was at the 56th GRAMMY Awards gala on 26 January.
