Eh, nothing new here. I hope he doesn't become one of those bitter / jaded ex managers that runs to all the outlets to whine about things. I doubt he will, though, he seems appreciative of what Gaga's success has brought him and I honestly wish him all the best.

However, he approved all of the so-called "bad decisions" during the Born This Way Era so no one really has any room to act as if firing him was a bad idea. He was one of Gaga's many supposed "yes men" that people claim she has to get rid of and, well, here we are.

BTW, she still has Lane and Bobby who were part of Troy's company until they decided to leave and stick with Gaga.

Yeah, definitely sad that such a great friendship was ruined over what was probably something as simple as creative differences. However, if they both feel it was right then I suppose it was right.

A long time ago, maybe 2008 Gaga had an interview and she said "the best advice I was ever given was this: never let anyone take your creative team away from you". I always remember that quote now. Can't say the same for her though, maybe she should have written it down.

He was never part of her creative team. The creative team, aka The Haus, she started with in 2008 is still with her today. Along the way she picked up people like Nicola and Dada but then parted ways with them when they decided to work on other solo projects. She is still friends with Nicola and Dada despite the media claiming otherwise.

Yeah... she did allude to something during her SNL sketch. Maybe she wasn't happy with the deals he was making behind her back, like the Hamster commercial and BEATS. Although they did help the song, she didn't like that she wasn't asked about it.

Or you know, Madonna, Kylie, Cher, etc.

I thought he was gonna be trash talking her but you could tell he doesn't hold any hard feelings. Or it sounds like he doesn't. He sounds like he still wants the best for her. I would still love to know what happened between them because they always seemed so close and I wonder if Troy is the person GaGa was referring to when she was saying some people used her for money in the post about the Do What U Want video on littlemonsters.com

It's totally unrealistic to expect her to keep the same creative team though. Things change, people's careers need to move on, new collaborators appear and she has to creatively evolve.

Until relatively recently, I actually felt she was taking that advice too much to heart because she was surrounding herself with the same people - mostly from before she blew up. She should have upgraded to professionals to help cope with much larger scale demands, but she didn't. And hasn't.

Troy wasn't her creative team though, and I would say losing him was unexpected/unfortunate.

Her being not managed this era is more than obvious and I don't care if there was something wrong between the two. She should get a new manager right after she fired the last one. Maybe we would have DWUW video by now and she would be on Brits and Grammies performing, instead of this mess that she's serving for ARTPOP, which is a great album and it really do not deserve the treatment it is receiving.
