My review might be a little out of order, so I apologize for that. Also, I didn't get a chance to finish, but I'll try to listen to the remaining four songs as soon as I can.
1. Over - 9/10
- I love that he managed to mix some rock sounds in with R&B. It works really well, and makes a great opener.
2. Heartbreaker - 8/10
- The lyrics aren't anything deep, but it's still a good dance track. He even threw in a little bit of trance near the end, followed by some nice guitar rifts.
3. She's A Star - 5/10
- It's a bit like Make Me Better by Fabolous, so if you like that song, you'll like this one too. I didn't like MMB, so this song felt really drawn out and irritating at times.
4. Get Your Money - 9/10
- Great dance track with a techno feel. I think it would have been perfect for the summer.
5. Impatient - 4/10
- Yet another dance track, but this one sounds purely experimental, and should've been left off the album. It just reeks of filler.
6. One More Chance - 10/10
- This one is a definite stand-out. The chorus is great, and the beat is very easy to jam to.
7. Invisible - 10/10
- I'm falling in love with this song after just 30 seconds! It's pretty unique compared to what's out there right now, and it would do really well as a single.
8. Fantastic - 9/10
- 99% sure that it samples ABC by Jackson 5, and that's a pretty brave sample but will.i.am pulls it off nicely.
9. Fly Girl - 6/10
- Up to this song, the entire album has been pop/dance, but this song switches it up and brings back the hip-hop/rap style that will.i.am showed in BEP. I was expecting Fergie to jump in at any second, and she might have pushed this song from "above average" to "excellent."
10. Dynamite Interlude - Rating N/A
- I didn't think it would fair for the album's average rating if I included the interlude, so I just decided to relax on this one and listen. It's very short and not worth listening to.
11. Ain't It Pretty - 8/10
- There's something very "Say It Right" about this song. Of course, it can never measure up to SIR, but it's still a great sound. It would fit right in with any track on Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds.
12. Make It Funky - 9/10
- One of the best dance tracks that this album has to offer, it has a distinct European sound that makes you want to turn the speakers up.
13. S.O.S. (Mother Nature) - 9/10
- This song is very different from the rest of the songs, in that it's a deep perspective into issues like Global Warming, Gas Prices, and Deforestation. I could see this being a theme song for any youth environmental organization.
14. I Got It From My Mama - 6/10
- Why the hell was this chosen as the first single?! There's so many better songs on the album than this repetitive song.
15. The Donque Song - 9/10
- Like the majority of this album, the sound contains trance elements, but it's a step above quite a few songs on the album, and there's something strangely addictive about this song.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
Top 5:
5. S.O.S. (Mother Nature)
4. The Donque Song
3. Over
2. One More Chance
1. Invisible
Final Words: BUY IT ON THE 25th!!!
