In pop culture it is Britney, although Beyonce is doing well herself.

In music, it's definitely Beyonce.

Britney had the fame late 90's and early 2000's but Beyoncé has surpassed her since her solo debut. Beyoncé is even more respected by the industry. Britney is not as relevant as Beyoncé nowadays.

Since the title doesn't clarify, I'm going to assume you're talking about impacting on a individual basis. Beyonce has had a much bigger impact on me.

Actually I think that Britney had the bigger impact considering how big she was, this is what might make her an icon.


Beyonce is not about Impact, rather she takes the route that just keeps getting better and better with respect. Her longevity is what makes her a legend, rather than just an icon.

I'd say it's about equal. Bey is much more relevant now, but 1999-2002/3ish Britney was bigger than Beyonce has ever been.

In the future though I think Beyonce will eclipse Britney unless she makes a big comeback. Beyonce will definitely be a legend, and Brit will just be seen as a celebrity whose star power was contained to one decade.
