After having a debate with a Katy stan earlier today it has come to my attention that some Katy stans classify her music as being diverse. However this stan made it sound as if she is diverse only because all of her singles don't sound exactly like one another. However, is that really what the definition of diverse is? Doesn't every popstar fit that bill? What do you think? Is Miss Hudson diverse or a one note pop star? Has she pulled off much beyond the pop rock/bubblegum pop/dance pop genres effectively? If no, could she in the future? Discuss.
nah not really that diverse. but im not sure if its the music itself that is homogenous, or if her voice doesnt have enough character to distinguish songs from eachother. lots of pop stars have this issue though. she mainly just sticks to her one lane, but it works for her and shes super succesful doing it, so more power to her
She's sang pop rock, pop, trap, dance-pop, soft rock, electropop, powerpop, alternative rock and europop. And let's not forget gospel. She's diverse, you're delusional if you think otherwise.
I see her doing like an acoustic album one day. idk . She can be diverse though. Everyone says all her songs sound the same but if you compare each song, even from Prism alone, they each have something the other one doesn't. idk I'm not a musical genius.
I've seen her movie though (thought it was actually quite good), and she did well in other genres prior to her mainstream debut. She's obviously capable of releasing more diverse music, so I'd like to see what she can do in the future.

Her Christian power-pop anthem Unconditionally alone makes her discography that much more diverse.
