List up to 3 causes that you deeply care about and would be willing to contribute to with your career/volunteering/charitable donations, etc.
Mine are:
1. Helping people with mental illnesses
2. LGBT issues in developing countries
3. Spreading the knowledge based on science - as an antithesis to organized religion/blind faith.
I kinda also care about environmental issues, but not as deeply as these 3 issues.
1. Animals
I don't know why, but I just physically ache when I see or hear about animals getting abused or mistreated. Any kind of animal, but especially dogs. I've donated the most money to animal organizations (not PETA) out of any other cause and am a big believer in spay and neutering pets and rescuing from shelters.
2. Autism
My mother worked closely with autistic children for several years, and it's kind of become a family cause for us since then. We support not just curing it, but also spreading awareness that children and people with autism are still able to function in society, they are still people and still deserve a normal life.
3. Arts in Schools
Most schools put so much focus on sports and athletics and children that love the arts (theatre, chorus, band) get the short end of the stick, and it sucks. As a theatre major, I have seen first hand what a difference the arts can make in children's lives and well being.
Too many damn things I guess my main causes are LGBT issues, sexism, and helping/supporting Native Americans. I also care about mental illness awareness because I suffer from mental issues myself.
Feminism and LGBT rights, because my country is only slightly better than Russia in the later case.
Also separation of Church and State because again it exists only in theory here.
