I don't know many people who think they are "so different" just for listening to K-Pop. They exist, I know, but that's not what most people who enjoy K-Pop think.

I listen to it as well. What I mean is the people that refuse to listen to anything else, just because it's k-pop. Apparently it's become a thing to bandwagon it which is what I find annoying.

How is that annoying? There are a lot of people who put in a lot of effort to be able to connect with their favourite artists. I know people who have actually spent a good amount of their spare time learning the Korean language so that they can connect with their fave more. You'd be surprised how dedicated some people are.

We actually have a few people on ATRL who learned ENGLISH so that they could understand/connect with their faves more. I don't ever see anyone complaining about them though.

The annoying ones are the ones that stan HARD for like 3 months and then suddenly don't care. You can pick out the people that wanted to stan just to look different and those who were/are genuinely interested in Korean pop culture.

I don't really see people praising it to the high heavens. Most K-pop fans I know just like it because it's cute, the music is fun, and the singers are attractive. They aren't really pretentious about it.

And I know many people, myself included, are reluctant to try it out or get into it. And some irrationally dislike it because it's popular and they think it's cool to criticize.
