Columbia told her to get with the matrix and release an album together as her debut. Album was scrapped, then the matrix silently released it when Katy became famous years later. Katy herself loathed the album (doesn't like the music and I think the fact that she got no royalties or something.)
The image has been deleted now so I can't post it but Katy has signed a copy of this album a few years ago and she wrote abuse to the other 3 members of The Matrix on the album cover.
