No, it was released in 2013. And it's not really getting heavy rotation on pop radio. It's just getting a good amount of airplay for an alternative song. It's not a huge song, but it's doing pretty well on pop radio considering the group isn't well known and the song isn't pop.

This is the case with most songs that cross over from alternative rock to pop radio. NO surprise here.

Like the song but their album is so bad

It's been out since January 2012, if I remember correctly. It wasn't promoted to Top 40 until recently, but the song and video have been out for almost 2 years now.
