Bad news for fans of deliciously bad TV: the live TV trainwreck that was KDOC's New Year's Eve special will not be returning to the airwaves this year.
Last year local station KDOC aired a live New Year's Eve Special that featured unbleeped F-bombs from Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, a spaced-out Macy Gray, wasted revelers and on-air hosts including Jamie Kennedy who weren't always sure what was going on. It was a disaster, but a pretty entertaining one.
So it's not a big surprise to hear that KDOC won't be bringing it back, despite Jamie Kennedy's promise that it'd return. KDOC producer David Marquez told Franklin Avenue that the station quickly decided that "First Night" inaugural run would be its last. Marquez says this year, they're playing it safe and airing a previously-taped community special.
