Yeah, I updated to Windows 8.1 through the app store.
And since you probably don't have the start button back yet, you have to hit the start button on the keyboard to get back to get to the store. Should be a green tile.
you have to go to the windows store to download it, there should be a huge banner on the left telling you to get it once you're there. there's nothing really different about it from the regular windows 8 except changing the app sizes. And it takes awhile to update, just a heads up.
to search for apps move your mouse to the top right corner and a bar should pop up and you can use the search function to find it.
