Canadian musician Grimes – an indie It Girl who won a Juno this year for an album she recorded using GarageBand – has been signed by Jay Z’s management company Roc Nation. The news was announced on social media on Tuesday. “Excited to welcome @grimezsz to the Roc Nation family!” read a Roc Nation tweet, directing followers to the video for her song Genesis, which she directed.
Her fourth album is slated for a release in the first half of 2014. It will follow the critically acclaimed "Visions", which peaked at #8 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
